Food for Thought - 7,000,000,000 Reasons You Should Read This

Men, every once in a while there comes a time when we need to come together as the proud men we are and solve one of the worlds problems, or at the very least make a feeble attempt in the name of being better men for the experience.  Worse case, you have something else to talk about on your next date.

In my gallant travels about the web I uncovered just such a problem.  Being the bright mind that I am, I did not dare bring this problem to the great collective of men we have assembled here until I had a solution firmly in place.  I would not want anyone to strain a brain cell trying to work through a particularly poignant pile of witty posts here at the Men's Guide.

No, today with problem and solution firmly in hand, we are here at a fabulous but rarely experienced crossroads.  Today we can do our small part to solve one of the world’s problems while having fun, sharpening the mind, and expending fewer calories than a can of Diet Coke.

Men, the problem we are going to tackle is world hunger.  No fu-fu dating tips tonight.  No cutting relationship advice.  No, we are going to tackle the very same world hunger that every major beauty pageant winner has been trying to solve for the last hundred years or so, right along with world peace.

All you have to do is click on the rice bowl and play the game.  For every correct answer these guys donate 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program.

This project began October 2007 and has already donated almost 7,000,000,000 grains of rice.  Yes, that's Billion with a "B."

Chinese food is sounding really good right now.  Maybe some late night pork fried rice.

Seriously, though, this got me thinking that maybe this little rice game could be the tiny catalyst I need to widen my perspective a bit and focus more on being a better man and little less on being me.

Playing a game to solve world hunger is definitely Food for Thought.
